The first roundtable of SHERA’s 30th Anniversary will highlight the Society’s institutional history, including its founding and formative years, especially the intellectual and organizational momentum that shaped its early development. This event is designed to honor our founding members, foster intergenerational dialogue among art historians of the region, and contribute to a more accessible history of SHERA on our website. By doing so, we aim to ensure that all members understand how the institutional study of East European, Eurasian, and Russian art and architecture began to take root in North America. SHERA continues to build the field—one that would not be the same without the pioneering efforts of our founders and early members.
